Our Philosophy
We believe responsible breeding should be thoughtful, honest, and intentional. We do not breed just to produce puppies, and we do not cut corners.
Every pairing should have purpose, and every dog considered for our program should be evaluated as a whole dog — not just for beauty, but for health, temperament, structure, movement, breathing, hearing, eyes, orthopedic soundness, and long-term quality of life.
ENS & ESI FOR A STRONG START
Intentional Puppy Raising
Our puppies are raised in a home environment with daily care, handling, and socialization from the beginning. We use ENS and ESI as part of our early puppy-raising process during the first weeks of life.
ENS — Early Neurological Stimulation
ENS is an intentional handling protocol used during a puppy’s earliest development. It introduces brief, controlled forms of stimulation. The goal is to provide small, age-appropriate experiences to support resilience, adaptability, body awareness, and early neurological development. ENS is always done carefully, briefly, and respectfully, with the puppy’s comfort and safety as the priority.
ESI — Early Scent Introduction
ESI, or Early Scent Introduction, is another early development practice that introduces puppies to a variety of safe, distinct scents while they are very young. Because scent is one of a puppy’s earliest and strongest senses, ESI gives puppies the opportunity to experience different smells in a calm and controlled way. This can help encourage curiosity, confidence, scent awareness, and early environmental processing.
Both ENS and ESI are small parts of a much larger puppy-raising approach. They do not replace genetics, temperament, health testing, structure, socialization, or thoughtful placement, but they are part of the intentional foundation we provide from the beginning. As the puppies grow, we continue watching their personalities, confidence, and development closely so we can help guide families toward the puppy that best fits their home and lifestyle.
Health Testing
Health testing is an important part of our Boston Terriers breeding program.
We do not cut corners. We always do genetic health testing, and complete breed-relevant screening such as hips, spine, elbows, trachea, eyes, heart, and BAER hearing testing, along with any other testing available to us that helps us make better breeding decisions.
